Meet Dr. Milton James Keys

Rev. Dr. Milton James Keys is a preacher, teacher, producer, and disability advocate.

Three words adequately describe Reverend Doctor Milton Keys: Preacher, Teacher and Producer.  Keys uses these three gifts to change the world.  Although the was born with cerebral palsy, and a bleak diagnosis, Milton has let nothing stop him from achieving his goals.   Despite being given a two year life expectancy and was supposed to have severe cognitive disabilities Milton has earned 3 degrees.  He has produced and released 13 musical albums, 4 plays, 1 ballet, held 8 youth summits and completed numerous small projects in the last two and a half decades.

 

More importantly, Reverend Keys is a child of God and a preacher of the Gospel who has been in ministry for 25 years.   He became an ordained minister in 2007 and received has Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary in May 2017.  In May 2023 Milton Received his Doctorate in ministry from Christian Theological Seminary.   He has delivered sermons to congregations at several services, conferences and national conventions throughout the Midwest.  He has also lectured students of all ages through motivational speaking and poetry.

 

Although Dr. Keys has been blessed to have much success, he has struggled in the area of finding employment.  He found that many employers did not want to hire someone who had a disability.  This has caused hardship for Milton. After years of struggling to find a job, me realize that God was common speak boundaries that society has put up for people with disabilities. Answering this call Milton study to receive his doctorate in ministry focus on disability and the church. After graduating, Milton founded Advocates Embassy, an organization that is focused on helping organizations build spaces where people with disabilities feel safe, are welcomed, and have access to abundant life.

Keys is current raising support so that he can work full time
empowering people with disabilities.
